Hello! My name is Elana (she/her) and I believe that the relationship between a client and therapist is the most important aspect of the therapeutic process. I provide a safe and supportive environment for all of my clients to explore, heal, and grow. My approach is collaborative and relational. Together, we can create a space to work through emotions, challenges, life transitions, or patterns that no longer serve you.
I incorporate many different approaches in my work, including psychodynamic, trauma-informed, person-centered, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) , and somatic-based therapies. I have found that these approaches are helpful for both working through past wounds and coping, while making changes in the present. In a session with me, you can expect a curious, empathetic, and creative attitude.
I have experience working with young adults and adults across a range of circumstances, diagnoses, and crises. I have also worked with clients from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic levels, and genders and sexualities.
I grew up in Takoma Park and I’m excited to continue being part of the community. In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, cooking, and playing board games.
