Couples Counseling

Monica Testa, LCSW-C, and Rabbi Jane Berman, LMSW, both offer couples counseling through Takoma Therapy. Couples counseling provides a safe, non-judgmental, distraction free space to explore challenges, identify strengths, and gain a deeper understanding of your relationship.

Monica has worked with couples on issues including:

  • Premarital counseling
  • Anger management
  • Unhealthy family dynamics
  • Infertility
  • Conflict resolution
  • Attachment styles
  • Improving communication
  • Understanding patterns of behavior
  • Pre-separation and/or preparing for divorce

Jane will work with you to discover patterns in your relationship that leave you feeling angry, disconnected, lonely, and hopeless. She will help you create a new dialogue with your partner where you can feel understood and supported.

Couples counseling is not covered by insurance and is not the same as family therapy. The fee is $175 per session, and sessions last 50-55 minutes. If you have additional questions about couples counseling with either Monica or Jane, please contact Monica Testa at monicamct@takomatherapy.com

Cancellations

Cancellations require 24 hour advance notice. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. If the appointment is not cancelled in advance the full session fee will be charged.
